While the grandparents have a glass of eggnog and the kids sip on some hot chocolate, learn to mix up these holiday libations created especially for Bearings by two of Austin’s very own drink-makers.

If you grew up in North Carolina, chances are you or someone you know is a zealous Cheerwine fan. Yet until recently, the farther you traveled outside the Tar Heel state, the less likely the red soda had much recognition.

As most start their day, not much thought is put into brewing their daily pot of coffee. A few scoops of pre-ground beans, the flick of a switch and a few cups drip out to sit on a heated pad to burn. This is no way to produce a quality cup of Joe, so we turned to locals Brad and Lesa Wood from Roast Inc. to help us through our bitter coffee blues.

Atlanta can now claim to have a sommelier with an advanced sommelier certification. Holding court at Canoe, Matt Bradford recently became the only wine director in Atlanta to receive the esteemed certificate and is now applicable for the Master Sommelier’s Examination, which is considered the highest distinction in the wine industry, and a test only 186 individuals in the world have passed.
