Jackalope Brewing Company

As the rise of craft brewing continues in the South, it’s no surprise that Nashville is following that trend. Two women here in town are using their passion and a brew kettle to bring another craft brew option to Nashville with Jackalope Brewing Company.

Bailey Spaulding and Robyn Virball have a simple mission: “To make delicious and unique beers for the local Nashville scene and beyond.” There are three brews on tap at all times at their 8th Avenue Tap Room. Rompo is their version of a rye red ale. They also brew a fine American pale ale called Thunder Ann. Our favorite though was the Bearwalker – a maple brown ale that is creamy with a rich color reminiscent of the 100% Vermont Maple Syrup used in the brewing. The flavor is slightly sweet from the caramel malts in the beer, which lends itself to a toffee-like aroma.

Besides these three beers, Jackalope also offers other brews that change monthly and are seasonably appropriate. The Jackalope Brewing Company taproom is located at 701 8th Avenue South. Their brews are also currently being poured at 12 South Taproom, The Flying Saucer, Broadway Brewhouse Midtown, The Family Wash and a few other select bars around town.
