Snake Boots

With more than 40 species of snakes (six venomous) in Georgia and hunting seasons around the corner, you don’t want to chance navigating the woods and fields unprotected.
While there are a variety of leg guards and chaps available on the market, Chippewa offers a handsome, snakeproof hunting boot that’s backed by a rich company heritage.
Founded in 1901 in Chippewa Falls, Wis., the company was named after the local Indian tribe and prided itself on serving the burgeoning lumber-jack community with a boot that would support their dangerous and back-breaking work. In the years following, Chippewa supplied boots to Europe during the First World War, to land surveyors during the oil boom of the 1930s, and to allied paratroopers in WWII who needed a cold weather combat/ski boot for their mountain campaigns.
Later, during the 1950s, as enthusiasm for outdoor activities flourished, Chippewa responded with their Snake Boot. Today, the boot comes in 7 styles, each built using various materials, finishes and technology. Some, include their patented Chip-a-tex waterproof fabric, others offer a compression-resistant steel toe that’s also designed not to transmit electricity, should you find yourself in such a situation.
Priced $175-$275, all of Chippewa’s Snake Boots are made with a Vibram sole.
