This new contemporary American restaurant, recently opened on the Westside, features creative sandwiches and organic small plates. Bocado delivers a straight forward and simple experience. The atmosphere has a clean, loft feel and the food follows the “sustainable” and locally grown trends. A hip lunch option for those in the midtown area; the menu features $8 gourmet sandwiches and sides. We tried their burger that’s been getting some buzz and it indeed competes for one of the best in the city. The dinner menu tailors itself to a crowd or a date: shared plates ($9) dominate Bocado’s offerings, but there are a handful of entrees for about $14. On our visit we tried and liked the Wild American Shrimp, Risotto, Crab Fritters, and Chesapeake Flounder. The service was attentive, rounding out an overall acceptable experience. The good size bar looks like a noteworthy happy hour location. While Bocado isn’t yet in the top tier of Atlanta dining, it’s still a welcome addition to the city and worth exploring for yourself.
