While part of the fun of traveling is embracing new experiences, an unplanned lack of power is not one of them. Whether it’s a laptop, cell phone or iPod, doing without isn’t always an option.

Avoid the issue entirely by throwing a universal power adapter in your bag. Here are two we like:

-Kensington’s Travel Plug Adapter works in 150 countries, costs $20, and is compact and cordless.

-eBag’s Universal Plug Adapter Kit is a bit more at $34.99, but comes with a USB charger. Kensington also sells versions with USB chargers.
